Ireland has a strong history of Catholicism and Protestantism, however, due to centuries of conflict between the two, many Irish youth have become disillusioned with the idea of established religion. You’ll partner with local churches to make new friends and share about the new, meaningful life Jesus desires for them to live. Following Christ doesn’t have to mean any of these old fashioned notions that are associated with their grandparents; faith in Christ and living for Him today is relevant and does matter, and you get to be a part of making that known among this generation of Irish youth!

Royal Servants takes safety and health seriously. We go to the greatest lengths to ensure that you remain healthy and are safe throughout the trip. No one is allowed to be alone in any city; Royal Servants always travel in groups of three or more, with either a male or an adult in each group. The Trip Leaders continually monitor conditions within the host country, keeping in close contact with our ministry partners. If a situation arises that threatens the security of the team, either politically or from environmental conditions, the team will be moved to a stable location.

Seeking adventure? How about traveling to an island that looks like it comes right out of a fairy tale? You’ll see amazing things such as Dunluce Castle and Giant’s Causeway. Explore thousand-year-old castles, walk the beaches of the North Coast, and maybe even enjoy a taste of your own heritage. Over 10% of Americans have some Irish ancestry, meaning for some of you this could be your opportunity to see the motherland.

Although Ireland is an English-speaking country, their regional accents will be challenging and provide you plenty of opportunities to ask, “Could you repeat that?” And just when you think you have the accent mastered, you will move to your second ministry location (and a new accent) and have to start over. Like most Europeans, the Irish tend to be night owls, which means your ministry activities often start late and end even later! But don’t fret, if there’s one thing Ireland knows how to do right, it’s a proper cup of tea or coffee which will keep you going.

As you leave your comfort zone behind, you will have opportunities to trust God daily. We will help you know what it means to place your identity in Christ and how to serve others selflessly. You will grow in a community of like-minded believers as you dig into God’s Word every day. We want to see you grow in such a way that your parents won't recognize you when you return!

The Irish are a “meat and potatoes” sort of people, which is the kind of food you will need to sustain your energy for a month of ministry! You'll also have the opportunity to find out what fish ‘n’ chips - the quintessential Irish meal - is all about. As far as our living space, the churches we partner with generously open their doors to us and we live, eat, and sleep wherever there’s a space, from the sports hall to the Sunday school rooms or even the sanctuary.

We provide you with quality, intense training to prepare you for what you will experience overseas and your return home.

Training Camp (at the beginning of your trip): not only will your relationship with the Lord be built up through prayer, worship, study, scripture memory, and discipleship teachings, but you will gain some incredible friendships that can last a lifetime as your teammates become your family.

Debriefing (at the end of the trip): a sweet way to end your summer. We will give you the necessary tools and time of reflection to propel you forward as you continue to walk with Christ long after your mission trip ends.

All of your ministry time will be spent in Northern Ireland. You’ll begin by working with Christ Church in Dundonald, a suburb of Belfast. You’ll take part in summer programs for teens, street performances, and even help with a community BBQ. You’ll finish the summer by working with a church in Londonderry/Derry. You’ll be involved with their kids’ club and work closely with local believers to build relationships with teenagers through the Hope Cafe, a ministry reaching the youth of the area.
